What a brilliant night we had on Monday celebrating George Woods P.G.Std.B. 50 years as a Mark Master Mason. We were honored by the presence of our R.W. P.G.M. Keith Beardmore. Who excelled himself, in unfolding George’s long and very varied life. | |

From his time during the war in Bomber Command. Being a personal friend of Leonard Cheshire who with George formed a Dance Band and George charged the cost of the instruments to the Air Ministry. After a full working life, instead of retiring he became a Councillor with South Ribble Borough Council, was Mayor in 1989 and was also Chairman of the L.C.C. Highways Transport and Road Safety Committee, and served as a Justice of the Peace. | |
